Giving Myself a Little Grace

Here it comes. The post I promised myself I wouldn’t write when I started this blog. The one where I start it off by saying, “It’s been a while since I’ve posted…”

But, here I am…and I’m surprisingly okay with it.

When the new year started, I had all of these goals I wanted to accomplish and I even blogged about one of them here. But, for some reason, I didn’t take into account all of the changes that our family was about to encounter even though I knew many of them were coming.

David started nurse anesthesia school in January and that was a HUGE adjustment for our family. I knew we’d take a hit financially since he’s not allowed to work at all while attending this program (seriously…he had to sign a contract and everything), but I vastly underestimated how much our schedules would change as well.

We felt the pain early on in the semester. David studied constantly (and rightfully so) and I was picking up the slack everywhere else. And as much as I’d like to think I can do it all, I quickly realized that some things would have to give while we settled into our new normal.

Needless to say, my family will always come first โ€” and the blog was one of the first things to move to the side until I could get my bearings.

But, I’m back! I won’t say I have this all figured out. We’re only one semester in, after all. But, hopefully, I’ll be able to post more often now that I have more realistic expectations going into this next semester. One can dream, right? ๐Ÿ™‚

Let me know what you’d like to see more of in the comments!

P.S. I may have tacked on another personal goal that I’ll be sharing in the near future, so keep your eyes open! I guess I haven’t learned my lesson, yet. ๐Ÿ˜‰
